Neuspeed
P-Chip Technology
Over 25 years of dyno tuning experience goes into each and every
NEUSPEED P-Chip.
We were the first U.S. company to offer chips for water-cooled VW
applications. All
development and programming is performed by NEUSPEED on U.S. spec
vehicles.
The P-Chip is not a copy of, or a modified Euro chip!
The
P-Chip offers exact timing advance curves, fuel metering, and smooth
power delivery
over the full rpm band without the risk of excessive detonation.
You supply 91 octane or
higher gas and we'll do the rest. The P-Chip delivers maximum horsepower,
impressive
torque, crisp throttle response and elimination of the top speed
govenor.
Normally aspirated motors gain 7-12 hp with the P-Chip (depending
on application.)
Throttle-by-cable 1.8T engines gain 30 hp with our 0.8 bar Stage
1 chip. Most VR6 cars
and all Golf/JEtta IV, Beetle and Passat/Audi A4 1.8T chips are
soldered in place. You
can send your ECU (insured for full value of $1200) to us and have
out NEUSPEED
experts do the installation here in-house. We will desolder the
chip, install the NEUSPEED
P-Chip and return by next day air the same day we receive your ECU.
The NEUSPEED
P-Chips are 50-State legal through 1995 models, exempt #D236-6.
The
latest Audi and Volkswagen powerplants now feature a computer controlled
throttle
body. NEUSPEED engineers spent nearly 1 year perfecting their P-Chip
for these models.
The result is smooth throttle response, increased horsepower, and
long term reliability.
Throttle-By-Wire P-Chips are now available for all 2000 and 2001
1.8T engines found in
Audi A4 and TT, and Volkswagen Passat, Golf, Jetta and Beetle models.
P-Chips are also
available for Audi 2.7 Bitburbo engines found in the S4 and A6 models.
The latest NEUSPEED 1.8T and 2.7 Bitburbo P-Chips raises the turbocharger
boost level
to 1.0 bar. Rev limiter and speed limiter ceilings are raised (amount
varies by application)
and fuel delivery is matched to the higher boost levels. Ignition
timing advance is revised
for improved throttle response. 1.8T engines gain approximately
30 flywheel horsepower,
and 2.7 Bitburbo engines gain approximately 50 flywheel horsepower
from these modifications.
Your
original engine control computer must be sent directly to NEUSPEED's
California
tech service department for re-programming. There, a trained technician
will carefully
desolder your chip from the printed circuit board, then resolder
a NEUSPEED-programmed
chip back onto the board. The result is a completely stock appearance
without the reliability
risk of scrambler "keys" or sockets that can become dislodged by
vibration.
All NEUSPEED P-Chips for 1996-2001 vehicles are currently CARB-pending,
with
certification expected in early 2001.
