Volkswagen
Jetta
While
the other German
carmakers pat themselves
on the back about this sales
success or that engineering
triumph, VW continues to
sell circles around them with
the Jetta, the best-selling
German-badged car in America.
Jetta news for 2000 is a cold
weather package that's standard
on the GLX and optional on the GLS. The GLX also gets 16-inch alloy
wheels
and an eight-speaker stereo system. A 2.0-liter/115-horsepower inline-four
is
the standard powerplant for all of Jettadom, but life is better
with the 2.8-liter/
174-horsepower V-6 and the bundle of options that come with it.
A 1.9-liter/
90-horsepower inline-four turbodiesel is also offered if you've
got more time
on your hands.
